Walking Trail North Route

The descent to the Fajãs is done by a path covered by large trees and lush vegetation, where at certain points we see some of the Fajãs by the sea. Many are the stories about these paths that will be told by our guides, who have learned them from the locals’ real experiences of those tough people who populate, today, these places that remain intact and preserved.

Arriving to Fajã do Mero, we will visit a typical house of Fajã and meet one of the few resistant to the desertification of fajãs. Then we continue to Fajã da Penedia, Fajã da Abelheira and Fajã das Funduras. The route up the coast is of easy progression.
